Hal Jordan is considered by some the greatest Green Lantern, and since he accepted the ring from a dying Abin Sur, Hal's life and career have made a case for that, both in his victories and his personal defeats. Having recovered from his disastrous possession by Parallax, Hal is putting his life back together as the Green Lantern of Sector 2814. At the same time, the Corps is finding their new footing only just in time to face what might be the most challenging years of their existence.

Hal will play a major role in the Wars to come, but there are going to be some unexpected detours along the way. Regardless of where his journeys take him, though, Hal is especially concerned these days about keeping his friends safe. He doesn't fear the future--hardly that--but he knows how quickly the unexpected can catch up with you, and he's in no mood to see friends and loved ones hurt so soon after he's had them returned to him. If you're looking for trouble, Hal is ready to show you just what that ring can do.

As a Green Lantern, Hal wields a power ring of almost infinite ability. While he has to recharge it from his Power Battery once a day, it no longer has the weakness to the color yellow GL rings once had.

The ring makes constructs, of course, but Hal's are rarely as detailed as John Stewart's or as elaborate as Kyle Rayner's. Hal is all about precision, about doing exactly what he needs to do to have the effect he wants.

Hal arrives shortly after Rebirth, but before the outbreak of the Rainbow War and the Blackest Night.
