It's been a long, hard fight, but the heroes of Earth have rallied against the alien invasion, and step-by-hardfought-step, they've been liberating their home.

Hal, for one, has really had enough of yellow eyebeams.

But there's no time for that now. The Justice League is needed out at Blackhawk Island, and that's exactly where they're going.

J'Onn continues, "the debt I ow you all is..."

"...paid in full," Dinah interrupts, taking his facein her hands and kissing his cheek. He's one of her best friends, and she doesn't have that many. Like it or not, they're family now. "Let it go. We will."

And then, Uncle Carter wants to have his say.

"Any conerns we had about handing the baton to you youngsters... as of today they're waived." (Dinah tries not to roll her eyes too obviously) "We just wanted you to know that the Justice Society saw today. Any time you need us..."

"Or me...," adds an unmistakable voice.

Hal turns to find Superman's hand out to shake. He takes it with a grin.

"...Just send up an emerald flare. I know I speak for everyone here when I say that I can think of no greater honor than that of serving under the command of the Justice League of America."

And with that, he's up, up and on his way to the next task that needs him.

Dinah shields her eyes to watch the red and blue fly into the sky, and for a moment, no one says anything.

Then, she laughs.

They did it. They finally did it.

There's still clean up and civic restoration and she can see Charlie pulling her mother over to insist that he can't set her broken arm unless someone gets him to a real hospital, and preferably one with a sighted surgeon. There're loose ends to wrap up, both with the invasion and also with the team, but right now all she has is a rush of elation.

Which is also the only thing keeping her standing.

"I..." she laughs again. "I love you guys."

Even if she's never going to date any of them, this is her family.
